Kirchman Construction Co. has been honored with an Aurora Award—for the third consecutive year—at the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) Show in Orlando, Florida. During the July 13 ceremony, President Ronald E. Kirchman II accepted the Aurora Award in the Commercial Healthcare Facility category for the construction of the Morningside Animal Hospital located in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
The award-winning project is a 6,900 (9,700 total) square foot, state of the art animal hospital designed by Mark R. Hafen / Animal Arts Architecture of Boulder, Colorado. The new, two-story facility boasts upgraded equipment, surgery suites, grooming stations, exam rooms, kennels, cat condo area, and administrative offices. The building is also equipped with energy efficient lighting, motion sensing light switches, a solar hot water system, and an energy efficient HVAC system throughout. The Aurora Awards—sponsored by the Florida Home Builders Association—are an annual competition honoring builders, designers, architects, land planners, and interior merchandisers. Nationally recognized, the Aurora Awards are open to construction industry professionals within the 12-state, Southeastern region and the Eastern Caribbean.

First, in the Commercial Healthcare Facility category, for the work done at the Okeechobee Veterinary Hospital located in Okeechobee, Florida. On the heels of their first honor, came the 2012 Commercial/Renovation Remodeling category award for the interior renovation of the MetCare Clinic of Saint Lucie West located in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
